History of Multan cricket stadium is that it is replacement of Qasim Baiq Stadium Which is located near ghanta ghar and old fort stadium. This old stadium host only three matches from 1980 to 2001.First match was played between Pakistan and west indies in 1980 ,second match played between Pakistan and India in 1982,third match between Pakistan and Australia in 1994.The sitting capacity of Qasim baig stadium was very low. Eventually PCB decides to establish a new cricket stadium with 35,000 sitting capacity all around.
